Toasted sandwich
Toasted sandwich makers are great but always a bugger to clean and it’s much more satisfying to make one yourself using the pan and plate technique.

Preparation and cooking time: 8 minutes.
Ingredients
Two slices of bread
Cheese, ham or any sandwich filling
Butter or margarine
Equipment
Frying pan
Spatula
1. Put a frying pan on the hob and turn the heat up to high.
2. Spread butter or margarine on a slice of bread and place it (butter-side down) in the middle of the pan.
3. Lay a slice or handful of cheese on top plus a slice of ham or chorizo or three tomato slices or any filling you fancy.
4. Butter/margarine another slice of bread and place it on top of the filling to make a sandwich (butter-side up). Can margarine be used as a verb like butter?
5. After two minutes, flip the sandwich over and place a small plate or spatula on top of the sandwich and press down firmly. Toast the underside for 2 minutes.
6. Y ya está! - a toasted sandwich without a sandwich toaster.
